Programming Video Games
For Grades 2 through 5
In these workshops, students will learn to code their own video games using the world’s most popular coding platform: Scratch. We teach students how the coding process uses logic and sequencing in order to make things work. After the workshop is complete your children can continue to use their own account in Scratch to continue to create games, animations, stories, and presentations. One of our former students (now 18 years old) has created more than 30 projects, many of them very high level games or quizzes.
Vex IQ Robotics Teams
For Grades 4 through 8
On these competitive robotics teams, your children will learn and practice mechanical engineering, computer programming, teamwork, and communication skills. Our teams will meet once per week (Wednesday for Elementary Teams, Friday for Middle School Teams) to work on their robot and the competition challenge. Our teams will also enroll in a local competitive league that will meet one Saturday a month in October, November, December and January. You can read more about these teams here.
