July 6 – 10 – Video Game Programming with Scratch and Minecraft Challenges – Level 1
In this session, Campers will learn to program their own video games using one of the most popular video game software packages available – developed by the engineers at MIT. This session employs a split day format where campers get to spend the morning learning video game programming skills, and the afternoon is spent completing cooperative Minecraft challenges.
July 13 – 17– Video Game Programming with Scratch and Minecraft Challenges – Level 2
This session will include more advanced programming skills, more advanced controls, and more challenging game play. Like Level 1, this session also employs a split day format where campers get to spend the morning learning video game programming skills, and the afternoon is spent completing cooperative Minecraft challenges.
July 20 – 24 – Lego Robotics and Minecraft
Campers will build and program Lego Mindstorms – designed to help students take ownership of the learning process, enabling them to actively develop the problem-solving skills and collaborative outlook necessary to become creators, not just consumers. This session employs a split day format where campers get to spend the morning learning robotics and coding skills, and the afternoon is spent completing cooperative Minecraft challenges.
July 27 – 31 – Video Production 1
Campers get to bring their imagination to film. Campers will write, storyboard, cast, rehearse, film and edit their own stories. We use state-of-the-art video production equipment including cameras, and digital, non-linear editing tools.
