Session 1 - July 9-13

Lego Robotics & Minecraft Challenges - Ages 7 to 12

Our youngest campers (ages 6 to 9) will complete a series of challenges which require engineering, creativity, and imagination to solve problems using the LEGO WeDo robotics kits. WeDo helps teach how technology plays an active role in the students' everyday life and is an ideal product for teaching across different subjects at primary levels such as Literacy, Science, Mathematics, Technology and Engineering. This camp employs a split day format where campers get to spend the morning learning robotics and coding skills, and the afternoon is spent completing cooperative Minecraft challenges.

Our senior campers (ages 10-14) will build and program Lego EV3 Mindstorms – designed to help children take ownership of the learning process, enabling them to actively develop the problem-solving skills and collaborative outlook necessary to become creators, not just consumers. This camp employs a split day format where campers get to spend the morning learning robotics and coding skills, and the afternoon is spent completing cooperative Minecraft challenges.

Session 2 - July 16-20

Intro to Coding Level 1 & Minecraft Camp - Ages 7 to 12

Campers will learn to program using a wide range of coding platforms including Lego WeDo Robotics, Dash and Dot Robotics, and one of the most popular video game software packages available - developed by the engineers at MIT. Campers will be immersed in opportunities to learn and expand their knowledge of coding in an environment rich with energy and age-appropriate challenges. Campers will create their own Scratch account, where they will store and possibly share their creations with other Scratchers. (Don't worry, Scratch doesn't collect or allow the sharing of names, or other personal data.) This camp employs a split day format where campers get to spend the morning learning programming skills, and the afternoon is spent completing cooperative Minecraft challenges.

Session 3 - July 23-27

Intro to Coding Level 2 & Minecraft Camp - Ages 7 to 12

Campers will expand their knowledge of coding using robotics and by creating their own video games using one of the most popular video game software packages available - developed by the engineers at MIT. This session will include more advanced programming skills, more advanced controls, and more challenging game play. This camp employs a split day format where campers get to spend the morning learning/practicing programming skills, and the afternoon is spent completing cooperative Minecraft challenges.
