Lego WeDo Robotics
About Lego WeDo Robotics
Your children will complete a series of challenges which require engineering, creativity, and imagination to solve using the LEGO WeDo robotics kits. WeDo helps teach how technology plays an active role in the students' everyday life. Children build fun and creative contraptions that include sensors and motors, and then program them on our computers.
This camp is for children ages 6 to 9.
A Few Details
Lego WeDo Basics
Building: The brick set contains more than 150 LEGO® elements, including Motion and Tilt Sensors, a motor, and the LEGO USB Hub.
Activities: Our activities are divided into four themes – Amazing Mechanisms, Wild Animals, Play Soccer, and Adventure Stories. Your children will get to choose what they want to build and program each day.
Programming: The drag and drop style coding makes programming your WeDo contraptions very easy and intuitive.

Computer programmers continue to top the list of top earners in the professional fields. Schools today are not equipped to teach high level coding skills and this has created a huge demand for programmers that isn't likely to be filled anytime soon. Children who learn programming now will be in a position to land high paying jobs in the future.
Lego WeDo is a prefect introduction to coding for our youngest programmers-to-be!
There are no prerequisites for enrolling in our WeDo course. We do ask parents to be aware that campers will be using computer mice and track pads, computer software, and Lego kits to build amazing things! If your children have no experience with computers they may experience a learning curve during the first few days of the camp.
After taking our WeDo course we try to point children in the direction of learning more complex computer coding though our Video Game Programming course*. Many of the same courses are offered through our sister company Young Makers Lab.
*Video game programming is intended for children aged 7 to 14, and the camps are segregated by ages (7-10 and 11-14).
