2017 Summer Camp at Wellington

Summer Camp hours: Instruction begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m.

Extended Care Options: We offer morning and afternoon extended care options. You can purchase morning or afternoon for only $10 per day. Morning and afternoon extended care option is offered at a cost of only $15 per day. Morning extended care is 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Afternoon extended care is 3:30 to 6:00 p.m.

Don't forget: There are NO registration fees! EVER!

Summer Camp Cost: Camps range from $285 to $425 per session. Prices are based on cost of materials, software, etc. Early Bird Discounts are available before February 28th.

Age Restrictions: We offer camps for children ages 7 to 14. We divide our campers into age-appropriate groups to match curriculum and children - ages 7 to 10 and ages 11 to 14.  We do not waiver from these groups.

The Schedule: In each "session" we offer two "camps" - one for each age group - 7-10 & 11-14. 

Note: In the 11 years of Digi-Camp's existence, we have made only one schedule change that effected only one registrant, but in the spirit of full disclosure - Digi-Camp reserves the right to change camp content based on demand, available space & equipment, and staffing structures.

Here are descriptions of our camps being offered in 2017. Upon registration choose the camps that best fit your camper's interests.

Session 1 - June 5-9, 2017 - Ages 7 to 10

Video Game Programming Level 1 & Minecraft Camp

Campers will learn to program their own video games using one of the most popular video game software packages available - developed by the engineers at MIT. This camp employs a split day format where campers get to spend the morning learning video game programming skills, and the afternoon is spent completing cooperative Minecraft challenges.


Session 2 - June 12-16, 2017 - Ages 7 to 10

Video Game Programming Level 2 & Minecraft Camp

Campers will take their own video games to the next level, learning how to include advanced elements including gravity, scorekeeping, levels and more. This camp employs a split day format where campers get to spend the morning learning video game programming skills, and the afternoon is spent completing cooperative Minecraft challenges.


Session 3 - June 19-23, 2017 - Ages 7 to 10

Lego WeDo Robotics & Minecraft Camp

Makers will complete a series of challenges which require engineering, creativity, and imagination to solve using the LEGO WeDo robotics kits. WeDo helps teach how technology plays an active role in the students' everyday life and is an ideal product for teaching across different subjects at primary levels such as Literacy, Science, Mathematics, Technology and Engineering. This camp employs a split day format where campers get to spend the morning learning robotics and coding skills, and the afternoon is spent completing cooperative Minecraft challenges.


Session 4 - June 26-30, 2017 - Ages 7 to 10

Maker Camp

This camp is for children who like to make interesting, artistic, and technical inventions! We will make a variety of amazing projects that move, draw, fly, grab, and most of all make kids think.


Session 5 - July 3-7, 2017 - Ages 7 to 10 (No camp on July 4th)

Creative Computing Camp

Your children will use computer coding to create art projects, 3D printed objects, tee shirts, video games and much more. We will take your children's knowledge of computer coding and bring it to the next level.


Session 6 - July 10-14, 2017 - Ages 7 to 10

Photography Camp

Campers will learn to use digital point-and-shoot as well as DSLR cameras to capture beautiful photographs. We will dabble in lighting techniques, rule of thirds, leading lines, and even photo editing techniques. We will take several field trips this week to take beautiful photographs.


Session 7 - July 17-21, 2017 - Ages 7 to 10

Maker Camp

This camp is for children who like to make interesting, artistic, and technical inventions! We will make a variety of amazing projects that move, draw, fly, grab, and most of all make kids think.


Session 8 - July 24-28, 2017 - Ages 7 to 10

Stop Motion Animation/Film Camp

Campers will get to bring their ideas to life. They will develop their own stories using elements of plot, setting, rising action, conflict, and resolution. Once characters and backgrounds are made, students use computers, webcams and special software to bring their stories to life! We will cover idea development, storyboarding, prep and production, lighting and composition and of course, shooting and editing.


Session 9 - July 31-August 4, 2017 - Ages 7 to 10

Campers will build and program Lego EV3 Mindstorms – designed to help children take ownership of the learning process, enabling them to actively develop the problem-solving skills and collaborative outlook necessary to become creators, not just consumers. This camp employs a split day format where campers get to spend the morning learning robotics and coding skills, and the afternoon is spent completing cooperative Minecraft challenges.


Session 2 - June 12-16, 2017 - Ages 11 to 14

Fabrication Camp

Introduce your child to the world of digital fabrication, where they can produce in the real world whatever they can imagine and create on a computer! We will work with powerful 2D and 3D design software that is appropriate for kids, but still able to make complex objects. Then we will teach your child to produce their designs on a variety of digital fabrication machines, including 3D printers, paper plotters / cutters, and a CNC machine. Participants will take home all of their creations!


Session 3 - June 19-23, 2017 - Ages 11 to 14

Session 5 - July 3-7, 2017 - Ages 11 to 14 (No camp on July 4th)

Minecraft Modding Camp

Young Makers learn to modify Minecraft using a system that was designed to introduce kids to basic programming concepts through their favorite video game. Campers will make a variety of mini-games like “Capture the Flag” as well as create their own blocks, mobs, and items, and reprogram their Minecraft world in ways only they can imagine! Included in the price of the camp is a one-year subscription to the Learn To Mod online programming system that we will use in the camp so that your Young Maker can continue to program inside Minecraft once camp is over.


Session 6 - July 10-14, 2017 - Ages 11 to 14

Drone Camp

Too often kids are given toy drones as a gift, they get flown a few times, and then either they break or end up buried under all of the other toys that have become boring. Our Drone Camp will turn the toy drones into tools, while adding to the fun! Campers will learn to fly and even program their drones while participating in a challenging sequence of missions and competitions with fellow campers. We will even teach campers to maintain and fix their drones so that when the week ends and the drones come home they will be used over and over. Price includes a drone to take home, extra propellers, and safety goggles.


Session 9 - July 31-August 4, 2017 - Ages 11 to 14
