Our typical day goes something like this:
9:00 to 9:45 a.m. – Morning instruction: Main instructors demonstrate skills and challenges needed for the morning activities. For example, in video game programming they would show the campers how to make their games do certain things (coding instruction).
9:45 – 11:30 a.m. – Campers work in groups or on their own completing the challenge or work for that morning. In video game programming, we might ask them to create an enemy in their game that clones itself at a certain interval. In photography, we might ask campers to take some pictures demonstrating the rule of thirds, leading lines or utilizing light in a particular way. Camp assistants and instructors will be with campers at all times, offering help where needed.
11:30 – 12:15 – At lunch, we will eat outside in the shaded Grandview Prep Courtyard, as long as weather permits. Campers will bring their own lunch.
12:15 – 1:00 – Another instructional block with a new challenge and/or a review of what the morning produced. Sometimes, we have campers share what they have been working on that day.
1:00 – 3:00 p.m. – Campers continue to work on their projects with a great deal of support from our staff. Depending on the content, there is often more instructional focus to assist campers in bringing their projects to the next level.
